Over the moon!

Now, how do I say this...?

WE DID IT!!!!!

DLSU has won the UAAP men's basketball championship. I watched it at the Gox lobby this afternoon IN FULL. (Classes? Who cares?!) My friends there can probably tell you I was going through a rollercoaster of emotions. There was calm, shock, anger, anxiety, hopelessness, and of course, sheer joy!

But then again, everyone watching would have been nervous as no one had a clear advantage almost all game. It was shocking when FEU demolished our 11-point lead late in the 4th and even went ahead at one point. My hands were on my face at that point. I just couldn't bear the possibility of that title slipping from our grasp, just like everyone else.

But when Casio put THAT 3-pointer in, I just felt... overjoyed. I remember the people around me standing up, screaming their hearts out for all it was worth. When FEU couldn't convert next time round, that was it. I stood on top of a table, jumping up and down, punching the air in delight, while those around me were still screaming, hugging one another, letting all their emotions out. It was simply an unbelievable feeling to see our Alma Mater take that crown as our own once again.

Right there, at that very moment, I felt there were no divisions among any of us. There were no blocks, no batches, no colleges, no Tapat and Santugon. There was just one, big, happy Lasallian community.

Although there were other good things that happened today (Two of my classes got called off; I managed to remove the bug from my PC), this one takes the cake... and then some!

As it is, I'm going to the victory party tomorrow night. It's gonna be one heck of a Friday! ;)

Of papers and weeners, tamaraws and archers

Well, it's been quite a day for me. It's surprising I'm still not sleepy yet. I slept at 3:30 this morning! And when I woke up (2 hours later), we still had a lot of work to do.

Ruthie, my groupmate, still hadn't merged our contributions into a single document. Worse, her Internet card ran out, so she couldn't send me the file. So I searched all over Leon Guinto (at 7:30 in the morning!) for a Net card. Thank goodness I found one quickly. I gave her the details, and told her to pay me later.

With that fixed, I waited... and waited... and waited some more. She sent it at 9:15, 5 minutes before class! I decided to go in late and put in the flowcharts (which she wasn't able to put in yet). After that, I sent it back to her (so she could finish the format editing) and went to class.

MANACON today was... odd. Although Mr. Ona discussed the Systems Development Life Cycle again (at Ms. Bacong's request), we ended up talking about things like "May nasiraan na, Sir, ng bait sa CCS?" ("Meron!")

Anyway, after that, I ran to EGI and met Jake to get the edited files and get them printed. Since it was a 37-page report... let's just say it hurts the wallet. Although there were nervous moments because some parts were still missing and she had to rush email them. But aside from that, we completed it and submitted it by 11AM. After getting it in, we all felt a large sigh of relief. But DATPROJ was still coming up.

And true enough, that deliverable was what we discussed. But at least Sir Oli was in a good mood. Even better, Ruthie handled his questions with confidence (and panache, may I add!) As it ended up, he was very satisfied with what we did based on what she said. Let's just hope it stays that way. :D

From there, fire drill notwithstanding, it was on to the Winners Pool General Assembly. I didn't even know I got in! I just found out last night when someone texted me to go to the GA. Before that, I thought I didn't get accepted because no one informed me. Oh well... It's something for the resume again. :)

From there, it was home and sleep. But I'm sure that wasn't enough for me to catch up on what I missed last night. So I'm guessing I'm falling asleep early. ;)

Tomorrow will be... odd. JAVA-01 proposal, the 2nd part of our FPJ-Susan Roces (!) film in JPRIZAL (more about that tomorrow), the DBAPDEV night class, and of course... THAT game.

OK, I'll go on the record. I'm predicting we will win, and win big. We will become UAAP men's seniors basketball champions (complete!) in style. :D Lasallites, pray for our team.

That it's for tonight, people.

Under the weather...

Manila weather these past few days can be described as... changeable. Sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it's rainy, and sometimes even a bit of both. My well-being isn't too far away from that right now.

Physically, I have a cough going right now. In fact, I felt so bad yesterday I fell asleep much earlier than I wanted. I wasn't able to do a lot of things (make sales workflow, edit distribution workflow, check email from Mr. Tan, organize groups, post blog entry, give Ruthie instructions), and I felt very bad for myself. It seemed like I was a wreck. Right now, I'm feeling a bit better. At least it happened this early in the term. Imagine if it happened in early December? But a sickness is NOT what I need.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), it turns out that everything I was supposed to do related to the project would have been wasted anyway. It turns out Sir Oli posted a set of guide questions yesterday morning that must be followed for the deliverable. Since a lot of people only saw it by this morning, it was back to square one. Worse, the set of guide questions demanded a lot more work in a lot less time (24 hours less, to be exact).

At least some good things have happened since yesterday. FORMDEV is becoming my take-it-easy hour, just as I expected. At least it gives me the time to relax and concentrate on something that isn't too stressful. And it helps me with with my personal growth too. (Hmmm, maybe I should write my thoughts on FORMDEV... but for another time, when I'm less busy.) :p

Anyway, I got to go. We're still finishing the deliverable for tomorrow.

We're all human.

That was proven to be so very true today. I was entering this day full of hope and optimism for a double victory. Yet how different the result turned out to be...

First, I believed that Schumi can get onto the podium from the back of the grid with teammate Rubens winning the race. Yet MS seemed to be lost today. He was mostly off the pace, had a collision with another driver (Klien), spun off, and had a puncture. So much for him scoring points. At least Barrichello still won (from Button and Raikkonen), but I was a bit disappointed with Schumi not scoring.

But I quickly put those thoughts aside for the more important battle between DLSU and FEU for the UAAP Championship. And as I feared and suspected, FEU held us off. Because of that, we have a final duel on Thursday. That's going to go down to the wire.

Other than those events, it was a routine day of sleep and assignments. It's all becoming too much of a drudgery. Sure, I felt all sorts of emotions watching the two games this afternoon. But when getting down to the assignments, I was at a loss for what to feel. What should that mean? I have no idea. Is that a bad thing? I'm not so sure either.

But that's life. As the TV showed me today, we're all human.

That's it for now.

Forza! Animo!

Journeying... in cars. And other stuff today...

It's Saturday, but I still had to go to school. Nope, I don't have NSTP anymore. Yes, it is for DBAPDEV/DATPROJ.

Our company group decided to go to Valenzuela today to check out the company we had as reference for our project. It's super far, but what can we do? Going there took quite a while too. First, we encountered traffic insanity at Quirino Ave. cor. Osmena Highway because there was this enforcer who didn't let our cars through for 3 whole cycles! He let vehicles from the areas with less traffic go through first. I don't know what he was thinking, but he doesn't deserve his job.

That out of the way, we went on our merry way. But our journey took a bit longer because our driver took a much longer route, driving us into Sta. Mesa and Sto. Domingo first (which is in Quezon City!) before getting us to EDSA, then McArthur Highway. At least the traffic wasn't so bad.

Our next problem was finding the compound itself. Since it was hidden in a side street, we missed it twice and had a stopover in between. After much asking around, we finally found it and got in.

The man who met us in the office was very nice to us. (I really hope that just wasn't because we were referred to him by one of his clients.) He gave us a tour, allowed us to hold interviews, answered questions himself, and even gave us free snacks. At least we got what we needed while not bothering him too much. :D

After that, we had a quick lunch (thanks Pao!) and went back to Manila. It was then just a matter of killing time by playing PC games at UM. From there, it was on to pick my parents up, then Rockwell!

I played Initial D (another stage in the bag!), had dinner at Dencio's with family (yummy sisig!), then watched a movie. My parents bought the tickets, so I didn't argue. The movie was entitled "Saved". It's about this girl facing the normal troubles of life... in a Christian high school. It's a teenybopper movie with a twist, but still a teenybopper film. Anyway, from there, we just bought some stuff at Fully Booked, then we went home.

And that brings me here. All in all, it could have been a better day. But I think tomorrow can make up for it. I have a 4-hour sports block coming up then. (Formula 1 and UAAP Finals) Please let it be good! That's all for now.

Forza!

Battered, bruised, but not beaten

I knew it. The DATPROJ plenary didn't push through, so I just wandered around Gox all afternoon, while also keeping an eye on the F1 Friday practice times. The Ferraris have been disappointing today, but it IS only Friday. They'll improve tomorrow... I hope.

After that, I decided to go home. But it took all of 90 minutes because of very bad traffic. When I got home, there was this weird smell in the house. It turned out to be cooked fish and... something else. (I can't remember... haha!) At least it wasn't as bad as the smell at Gox last Monday.

You see, there was this garbage truck that passed by Agno. As fate would have it, it stopped right in front of the Gokongwei backdoor! As a result, the stench started to spread all over the building, causing those who smelled it to run away in fear (or disgust)! It was a good thing I had to go to EGI, or else it would have taken forever for the smell to leave.

Anyway, hmmm... I feel sleepy. It must be because of this very, very tiring week. Somehow, I've finally managed to get to the end of it. But wait... I still have to go to Valenzuela tomorrow with my groupmates to survey the company we will have for our DBAPDEV/DATPROJ. That took away my second teaching session and any chance of a cozy Saturday. O well... I should have expected that. I have a feeling it will be like this all term. Err. That's not nice to hear. But what can I do?

That's it. See you in the morning (or something like that).

Forza!

Twelve hours late!

Yep, that's how delayed my entry is. I had a lot of things to do last night.

Yesterday was as good as a rest day. First, we didn't discuss anything difficult in JAVA-01. We even drifted to all sorts of anecdotes! :D Anyway, it was then on to JPRIZAL. As each meeting passes, I am getting more and more convinced that that subject is a blast to the past (grade school, to be exact). I mean, the teacher wears a uniform, and her lessons are just a retake of what we learned before already!!! It feels an awful lot like an instant replay of Grade 6. (With slo-mos to boot...) I was also a bit embarrassed because it was so boring, I fell asleep. It's a good thing I didn't snore.

After that was supposed to be DBAPDEV when, for the 3rd consecutive meeting, there was no professor. So instead, our group called our reference company's resource person and finalized the details for our first visit to their factory on Saturday. I remember when I first called him Tuesday night and he seemed somewhat... cold. Now, he was so much more accommodating with us. What a difference! We have really got to thank his client. He made our situation with that resource guy so much easier. :D

Anyway, after that, I had to kill time again. So I ended up wandering around (for more than 3 hours!), solving mysteries online (It was really cool, but I can't remember the site!) and other stuff. At least I got some glimpses of our UAAP game against FEU before going to FILIPI2. Fortunately, the teacher made the wait a bit shorter, but we had to work for it. (Err...)

After that, it was back to the lobby for more UAAP. By then, DLSU had already thoroughly thrashed FEU and was already in cruise control. The 58-51 victory ups our school's winning streak to 9 and puts us 1 away from the title. Obviously, I really want us to win! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! :D :D :D

So then it was homeward bound for me, and a bit of sleep. After the nap (and helping a friend fix her speech for today), it was time to do the SYANAD1 assignment with Andrea and Noelle. Seeing the other presentations a while ago, I realized ours was woefully short. At least it doesn't carry a lot of weight in the grade. At least I hope it doesn't.

As of now, I'm in the lab, keeping an eye on Friday F1 practice, live from Shanghai! I should have left school already, but I'm still not sure if we still have the DATPROJ plenary this afternoon. I sure hope not, I'm not in the mood. If we do have, I hope it ends quick, but I doubt that will happen.

That's all for the moment. I'll see if I can post tonight. ;)

Animo La Salle!

P.S. It's a week late, but I'm going to congratulate Chiang Kai Shek High School for winning Brainstorm 2004 last week. They pulled ahead early in the finals and stayed ahead. Nice job, guys. :)

Hanging on to threads...

That expression there has been in use for who-knows-how-long already. It basically means you're on the verge of losing grip all together and falling. That's pretty much how I felt this morning.

Yes, our whole DATPROJ class didn't get the deliverables right, and we duly paid for it with a sermon. How it will affect our final grade isn't known yet, but it certainly won't be good. We had been working on it since yesterday, (so THAT'S why there was no post yesterday!) so it's really disappointing, to say the least. But still, I need to hang on. There's still a lot of work to be done and things to be submitted here, so we always have to try our best.

Other than that, yesterday and today went on in the same, tedious way, as it always has. That doesn't make me feel that much better, does it? But then again, it can't get any worse... Right?

On a lighter note, I just finished watching the Amazing Race 5 finale. Chip and Kim won (Yey!) from Colin and Christie. It was a well-fought season, with everyone making up at the end. (How nice!) I really can't wait for Season 6! :D

Also, the UAAP Finals start tomorrow. I hope we can take the title this year. Looks like it's a shortened FILIPI2 class... again. Hehe... ;)

That's all for now.

Forza!

What is fear?

Fear. It is something so simple, yet so complex. It is nothing to many, yet it affects our life in every which way possible. We cannot escape its many forms. We are struck by it, one way or another. There is a different story behind each fear. Because of this, it is hard to offer a single explaination for fear.

Right now, I am feeling a fear. It is a fear of failure. With it comes along a fear of rejection. This tandem scares me out of my wits. Why is this recurring now? Maybe it's because of a fear of the unknown. I am not completely sure what will happen to me.

What am I saying? Is there something to fear, or is it my trademark paranoia striking once again? Maybe it's just because of the unusually heavy workload so early in the term. It's just a very odd feeling. Whatever this is, I need to sort this out if I don't want to get into (academic) trouble.

That's all for now.

Forza!

P.S. This is what I get for trying to get through another boring day. It sure won't be boring tomorrow. Hectic, yes; boring, no.

What a difference a year makes...

...especially for the DLSU and ADMU basketball squads.

Just last year, they met in the semis, the Eagles with the twice-to-beat advantage. Though our Archers pushed them to the limit, the Eagles squeaked through to the Finals in the decider. I also remember the fights that characterized the series as a physical one. In the end, FEU walloped a tired Ateneo. But the bottom line is, they beat us.

Fast forward to today. Once again, they met in the semis, but now with the Archers having the twice-to-beat advantage. We surely didn't need to be asked (or in this case beaten) twice. Although it was very close in the 1st half, La Salle mauled Ateneo in the 3rd quarter to start pulling away. Since then, the boys from Katipunan never even had a chance. We at home cheered as hard as we could. Our Alma Mater was in the Finals. We beat them.

And so it is our turn to meet FEU in the finals, bringing along our 8-game winning streak. They will be a much tougher foe, but I hope our team can bring home the bacon again. :)

It was the only highlight in what was otherwise a boring day. I got a haircut at Acropolis, but nothing of importance happened there. When I got home, MotoGP was on, but nothing of worth happened there either. It may be nice, but it's no Formula 1. So with that, it was on to my... assignments. First off, I finished the first of two reaction papers for JPRIZAL, which was pretty easy. Since I don't have the source to do the second, that gets moved to tomorrow. Meanwhile, I started snooping around for my DBAPDEV research. I found some sources, but I don't know what I need EXACTLY in the research. (I only have a rough idea.) That means I'll be asking around tomorrow. Man, this is gonna be a stretch...

Just last year, I was still in cruise control at the start of the 2nd term. Now, it's work, work, work... Darn.

Anyway, that's all for now. I got to go!

Animo La Salle!

Oh, say can you see...

Today was, in a nutshell, refreshing. No school (but I realized I have tons to do tomorrow), so I have time for other stuff.

First off was my teaching gig. We started an hour late because my student got stuck in traffic along Commonwealth. When we got to start, we went through the test he answered when I wasn't around last week. He did very well in Math (except for a few careless errors), but then stumbled in English. We tried to answer that part of the test again. It was there that the problems really came out.

First, he vocabulary wasn't very deep. There were some words which definitions he did not know. He tried to cope by speaking in Tagalog when he needed to. Second, he was badly mixing up the tenses. As a result, he kept using the wrong tense in the verbs being asked for. Third, he was confused with the subject-verb relationship, so he didn't know what the verb was referring to. With all those problems, it was going to be hard for both of us. So I decided to start him on some exercises. We went through his answers and I explained his mistakes. He's improving, but I don't know if I could cover all the ground I need to by next week. I say next week because we still need to review in Math and Non-Verbal Ability, which we will cover in the last 2 weeks. I'm just a bit disappointed though. Is that the quality of English being taught in schools? No wonder then we're lagging behind our neighbors. Oh well...

After we finished, I followed the rest of my family to Megamall to eat lunch at Shakey's. From there it was on to Rockwell. (My mom said we wouldn't pass by Market! Market! yet because it was probably still a mess.) When we arrived, we quickly bought our tickets for the two movies we were going to watch. Both, curiously enough, were set in New York City. We were rushing so that we'd make it to the first movie, which we duly did.

The first movie on the bill was "13 Going On 30". It starred Jennifer Garner, and was about this 13-year old girl who was wishing she was 30. She duly got her wish, and got into a world of trouble. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but it was a touching movie. And Jennifer Garner is a real hottie! Hahaha! :D

Anyway, we had a 90-minute break in between the two movies, so I went to Power Station and decided to play Initial D! again. It was during this time that my KFC curse (see 'Phew!') slowly started coming back as I saw loads of Lasallians all over Power Plant. (Thankfully, I didn't know most of them.) I was buying more load for my arcade card when I ran into... Andrea and Myron! We laughed it off and chatted a bit before they went around again outside and I played. I finally nailed the 3rd circuit, and I'm now going through the 4th. After that, I went to the cinema already to wait for my parents and sister and get ready for the 2nd movie. (I had run out of money at that point. I also duly ran into Andrea and Myron again; they were going to watch "Exorcist: The Beginning".)

After meeting up with my family, we bought some food and drinks. That was when my KFC curse made itself known. I saw this girl passing by me, looking for straws. Then I realized... it was Jodie! Or was it Jodie? I mean, I only saw her face for the best part of 3 seconds. Since both of us were rushing anyway, I let it pass and went into our cinema.

The second movie on our playlist was "The Terminal". Starring Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Stanley Tucci, it was about a guy who became a citizen of nowhere because of a revolution in his home country. Because of that, he was forced to stay in the international terminal of JFK. Again, no spoilers for you. But it was brilliant! I'd love to watch it again. :D From there, there was nothing left to do, so we went home.

Wow, what a day! Everything today (except maybe that KFC curse) pointed to the land that is America, from English to cars to movies. Just a coincidence, maybe? Whatver it was, I hope that my curse is nothing more than that! That's all for now. ;)

Forza!

P.S. The 2nd La Salle-Ateneo game in a best-of-3 series will be tomorrow. Hmmm... Should be fun. Animo La Salle! :)

Instant Potpourri

Today was a day about nothing in particular. I'm really hoping I'll have a lot more of that this year.

Anyway, SYANAD1 was my first (and last) class for today. As always, it's just the usual lecture. But how long will it stay that way? After that, I went to William Shaw to finish the prelims of Brainstorm 2004. The students did well, but not all were necessarily super-smart. Anyway, 8 of them made it through to the finals, which were:

1. Chiang Kai Shek
2. UP Integrated School
3. San Beda College
4. Quezon City Science High School
5. Makati Hope High School
6. Philippine Cultural High School
7. Manila Science High School
8. Elizabeth Seton School

After that, I had to go to the DBAPDEV meeting. Basically, we got our group directories and agreed that all of us should try to look for model companies already. With that, maybe you guys can help me out. If you have contacts who work in companies that make plastic bags (supot), please let me know in the comments, on the tagboard, or email me if you know my address. If ever, please do so by Sunday. :)

Moving on, I ate lunch with Ross, Ellen, Val and co. at the Venue. The food tasted pretty good actually. Too bad it cost me P100. O well... Before going home, I stopped by William Shaw again to watch the 1st part of the finals with Don and co. I also saw the results of the individual round (separate from the prelims before and the finals after), which were:

1st - Chiang Kai Shek
2nd - Makati Hope
3rd - Quezon City Science

At this point, I overheard a conversation from the teachers, which left me a tad... surprised.

Teacher 1: Sayang naman yung bata natin! Muntik na maka-3rd!
Teacher 2: Oo nga eh. Bakit sa kanila na-consider, sa atin hindi? Dapat na-consider na rin yung sagot natin! Mas malapit sagot natin eh!
Teacher 1: Oo nga...
Teacher 2: Tingnan mo naman, sagot natin 'rebooting', sagot nila 'boot'. Mas malapit sagot natin! Sobra nga tayo ng 2 letter eh... Sa kanila, kulang pa ng 3! Sayang talaga...

Take note that the answer to the question they were referring to was 'booting' (the loading of the OS into memory). Dang... And to think those were teachers! I'm not telling which school. ;)

After watching the 1st 1/4 of the Finals (where QC Science publicly complained to Dr. Raposa, one of the judges, on considering two of the answers to a question... that was a bit fiery, too), I had to leave already to drop by Sony near Makati Hope.

There, I had to pick up my antique Discman. I ended up not getting it anyway, because the technician missed the other problem (at the earphone jack) and had to fix it again. I was told to come back tomorrow. It was kind of irritating, because the girl at the reception wasn't so helpful. But then again, I had to make do because I wasn't allowed to talk to the technician. (It's company policy; it must be to prevent technicians from snatching away personal customers from Sony.)

From there, I went home. I watched some F1 videos first, then slept. But I OVERslept, so I missed Iron Chef. :( I'll just try to watch the replay tomorrow morning. So I went on the Net instead and found out a lot has been going on in Formula 1. Both good news and sad news for F1 enthusiasts. But I'll talk about it in a future entry. (This is getting very long already!) If you're really interested, check out your nearest F1 news site. ;)

So there! That's it for today... Tomorrow will be fun. My first teaching gig in the morning, then Market! Market! and movies in the afternoon. This should be interesting... :D

Forza!

Phew!

Nothing really significant (to me, at least) happened today. And yet, I still feel so tired.

Basically, I skipped all but my last class today to be a tour guide to high school seniors (keeeeeeeeeeeeds!!! :D) who will be participating in Brainstorm 2004 tomorrow. Sir Rene Molano, the CCS Freshmen Coordinator, had this as part of an activity day today to entice these smart students to take college in our very own DLSU (preferably in CCS). I was assigned with a partner to Quezon City Science High School.

To be more to the point, we were supposed to be more than tour guides. We were supposed to be their companions for most of the day (when they were outside the ISR). But that duly went out the window. First, we were supposed to accompany them to the room after registration, but the registration was already in front of the room! Next came lunch. But most of us guides were duly dropped after most schools prefered to eat at the fastfood chains outside. So all we were left to do is tour them.

Since there was a lot of dead time, I just slept. I didn't bother going to my classes anymore, since I wouldn't be able to stay for the whole duration anyway. But I needn't have worried. JAVA-01 only had a refresher run today. Yey, the groupings weren't set yet! (We haven't ironed it out yet) At least I can catch up on the refresher run with old partner Miko G. JPRIZAL is what I have no idea about. But the professor is nice enough anyway to tell me if I missed any seatworks or homeworks or what. Besides, I know some of my classmates. So that shouldn't be a problem. As for DBAPDEV, Ms. Tangkeko didn't show up. BUT, Sir Oli did show up, and he gave the details on our first research, due a week from now. Shouldn't be too much of a worry, as he already gave us the sites where we should look. :)

So after they had their lunch (I decided to have mine after the tour), we had to tour them already. My partner was Nina, a 3rd year student. Since neither of us knew each other nor the students very well, we were basically in the dark on what to say and how to act. But nonetheless, we somehow survived and the students liked the tour. We brought them back to the ISR, and out job was done. After that was finally done, I ran into Joyce and went to the lab with her. I wasn't so hungry yet anyway.

She also went with me when I ate lunch (at last! That was 3 PM). We were just chatting and I was eating when Miko, Che, Anjo, and Niki came. I introduced the people, then just chatted. After that, it was basically killing time until FILIPI. The FILIPI prof (still couldn't remember her name!) discussed well, bringing up interesting questions and thoughts. It was a shame though she messed her history up. But no matter, she's a nice prof, and it looks like my minors this term will be smooth sailing (for once).

And then, I had to drop by home#2 (figure it out! ;) ) to kill some time. No Initial D today, because I had no money! I had enough, though, to eat at KFC. I was lining up when I realized I was behind... Tsh! Or was it Tsh? I couldn't exactly greet her, because she had friends with her and I wasn't sure if it was her. (But in hindsight, I realize it probably was her.) So we went my separate ways and ate. I was again thinking of greeting her, but all that ended when my mom picked me up a bit earlier than usual. Eventually, we picked my dad up and we went home. :D

So there! Very long story, no? Then again, I usually do have long stories. O well... Brainstorm 2004 is tomorrow, and I'm gonna watch! At least, in between SYANAD1 and the DBAPDEV meeting. Err... That's all for now. ;)

Forza!

P.S. To those concerned, I was a bit embarrassed by what happened earlier. I'm not mad, just disappointed. You know who you are. :(

I sense a screwing coming on...

...just like Colin and Christie did when they got Yielded.

The Amazing Race here was... wow! I can't describe it. It's too bad they can't exactly enjoy the scenery anymore (as the finale is already next week!), but it was fun to see them decorate the jeep first then scramble with the carabao. (They called it an ox! Is IT an ox? I don't think it is...) The taxi hunting at EDSA was also interesting, to say the least. Chip and Kim got lucky after yielding Colin and Christie (who ended up last and with no money... That's why they feel screwed!) and ended up 1st tonight. Yey! I sure hope Chip and Kim win though. We'll see next week... :D

But I'm more concerned another screwing right now. DATPROJ (DBAPDEV Project) with Mr. Oliver Malabanan just showed how close I am to academic hell this term. It's one of the largest projects I've ever been in, if not the largest EVER. Basically, I'm a member of a team, which in turn is part of a set of teams working on a single company. These three teams will work on one HUGE database application with many functionalities that can be easily used by a small- to medium-sized company. As early as this morning, I knew it was going to be a loooooooooooong term ahead. At least Sir Oli was frank about it. But I feel pretty much screwed right now, not to mention worried. Coupled with the SYANAD case, can I go through all the needle holes? I sure hope so...

Speaking of SYANAD, what was mentioned as probable did happen. Sir Sherwin Ona ended up as our final teacher. That's not nearly as bad as what happened last term, (where instead of Ma'am Blessilda Raposa, we got Dr. Aurora Trance for our ANMATH2 [Analytical Math 2] course... and you DLSU people know how frustrating that feels) but most of the class really felt more comfortable with Ma'am Jane. O well...

And that's how the cookie crumbled today. And, boy, did it crumble... ='(

Noise and quiet

It's quiet here right now, as it has been for most of the day. The classes were somewhat unusually silent. First was JAVA-01 (Java Technologies) with Sir Allan Chu. It was the usual orientation meeting with not much going on or being talked about, then getting dismissed early. The same could be said of JPRIZAL (The Life and Works of Rizal) with Ma'am Erlinda Bondoc. DBAPDEV (Database Application Development) under Ma'am Tangkeko was very quiet because only half of the class came and the bulk of the syllabus (i.e. project) won't be discussed until the plenary session next week.

However, the quiet today was disturbed for three hours everywhere in La Salle. As people settled in to watch the 1st game of a virtual best-of-3 series between DLSU and ADMU, I could really sense the excitement around me. It was electrifying! For once, we Lasallites (sounds so much better than Lasallians...) didn't have too much to worry about in this game. The boys from Katipunan never really stringed together any big runs and were outscored in all quarters. Our Archers kept going at it (making some fancy and brilliant plays in the process) and duly took first blood against the Eagles, 69-82. It was pretty irritating because my viewing got disturbed by FILIPI2 (Filipino sa Araling Kompyuter - CCS only), but our teacher (can't remember her name!) was nice enough to ensure we only missed 1 quarter. (She WAS nice after all!) I hope she's like that again on Thursday, during the second game. (and if we're lucky, next week, during the finals)

After the game finished, it was back to the quiet again. I had to kill some time at you-know-where before picking my parents up and going home. And here at the blog, it's been kind of quiet too these past few days, don't you think? It's probably people being busy and all, but hey, that's life for you... :)

That's all I got, so I got to go!

Forza!

P.S. Well... I lasted for the whole day! Or is it only because it's the first week, with everyone so focused on La Salle v. Ateneo? I hope not... :D

How do you feel today?

I knew today was the day I'd get bounced back to reality. And so it was as I entered my first class.

SYANAD1 (Systems Analysis and Design 1) had more than a hint of deja vu. Half the people there were my classmates in MANACON (Management Concepts, a prerequisite of SYANAD1 where our class occupied the same time slot last term)! I knew a great bulk of the people there, and soon our prof came in. Ma'am Jane Bacong looked competent, smart, yet... makulit! That was a good sign for me. She was no Sir Ona. Sir Ona lectures very well, but he is a nightmare requirements-wise. Ma'am Jane at least is hopefully going to be a bit easier on the nerves. That is, if she gets to hang on to our class. Otherwise, we will have one more term under Sir Ona.

Then came SDPROJ1 (SYANAD1 Project) with Ma'am Mavi Pineda. She's nice, straight to the point, and filled with experience. (Yes, that's good!) There's only 16 students (still on the brink of dissolvement!), so there's no problem in terms of getting along with us. Almost all 16 of us know each other anyway. There was this cute moment though while we were getting the attendance. Andrea decided to add an extra column to the usual Name, ID# and Signature. It was asking, "How do you feel today?" It gave everyone a bit of a laugh. :D

After that was my new Megabreak. Unlike last term, when it was around five hours twice a week, it will now be around four hours once a week (Mondays). I had lunch twice, once with RC, and the other with Val, Ross, Ellen and the gang. (assuming iced tea is lunch...:D) From there, I got my tuition receipt from Accounting when I bumped into Kit. We talked about some stuff when I decided to take a look at the new receipt and my EAF (which has the amount due) this term. Then I realized something was VERY wrong.

My dad swapped two numbers on the check, meaning my tuition payment was short by P270.00. Fortunately, I managed to have enough money to pay the balance right there and then. (Thank you, Kit!!!) After that, she had to go to adjust and I played billiards with Popoy again at The Venue. The cue stick wasn't good to me, as I lost 4-1 today! From Venue, I headed to my FORMDEV (Formation Development) class.

Yes, you read it right, I have FORMDEV, which is meant to be a freshman subject. Why? Because when I WAS supposed to take it (3rd term last year), the people at the Registrar's ended up NOT putting FORMDEV on the EAF. (In case you're not from DLSU, the EAF also serves as a list of subjects I'm taking this term.) When I found out I was almost the only one who didn't take it, the term had already started. I was too lazy to do late adjustment, so I decided to take it with the froshies this school year.

And so far, it's been very interesting. First, I'm the ONLY one in their class not from their block (S11 C2T8), or batch for that matter. So I'm on the outside looking in. When we had an activity where we had to write positive qualities about our classmates, practically no one (except Mango) knew me. As a result, I basically saw a bunch of question marks, umms, and ellipses on my cardboard. Second, it looks like the curriculum and methodology hasn't changed much from 2 terms ago. Adding the fact I've been in La Salle schools for God knows how long (1992, methinks... See 'If I were to live my whole life again...'), I kind of end up in a situation where it's going to be a bit more predictable for me. (After all, it's St. John Baptist de La Salle we're talking about here. We've been taught his life practically every year of my La Salle Greenhills schooling! :D) Unlike my new classmates, I won't be that surprised with what's going to happen next, or for the rest of this term for that matter. Yes, I know I should still expect some new things here. But it's like when you're going to watch a movie, then someone told you the bulk of the story before you get to watch it. Despite all that, I think I'm still going to enjoy FORMDEV very much for many other reasons. The path I'm taking is a bizarrely unique one, don't you think? ;)

Anyway, after leaving school, I dropped by Rockwell (yet again) to wait for my mom to finish her work. From there, it was on to SM Megamall to get some processed pix, then to Galleria to pick my dad up. All in all, it's a usual day, with some... aberrations. :)

For me though, tomorrow is the real test. I have four subjects, three of them in a row. And I might not even get to watch La Salle-Ateneo tomorrow because of class. Dang! :( O well... We will just see. That's all for now.

Forza!

Fantasic!!! Racing, school, and a week on...

Wow! I expected good racing all day, and did I get it, and then some!

It started with NASCAR this morning, but I was a bit disappointed because it started an hour and a half behind. At least they cut the safety periods, so the race went a bit faster. It's sad Kasey Kahne (a brilliant rookie and a favorite of mine) spun and ended up outside the Magic 10 to contest the Nextel Cup. (He was already 10th in the championship before the race, finishing 12th in the stakes at the end of it.) O well...

The afternoon was a bit boring. I couldn't watch my F1 tapes because my sister was studying. So I slept it off. (Consequently, I missed the cheering competition.) When I woke up, I called up some old, missed friends. I talked to them for only a few minutes, because they all had important things to do. After that, I decided to call Ellen up. (First time we talked on the phone!) We just chatted about pretty much anything that came into our heads. Nothing in particular, really.

This evening, the main event finally came on! The Italian GP looked interesting with a drying track. I was on the edge of my seat as first Michael Schumacher spun, dropping to 15th, while Rubens made the wrong tyre choice, forcing him to pit very early. Despite the race looking as good as lost for the tifosi, Ferrari fought back. (Especially Michael, who was bloody fast and pulled off multiple overtaking manouvres. Good on him!) In the end, they STILL finished 1-2, Rubens from Schumi, nose-to-tail. (They even had enough time to cruise around for some laps near the end!) It wasn't only brilliant, it was fantastic! Are they fast or what???

In the end, this race showed how much ground the other teams still have to make up to the Scuderia, both speed- and strategy-wise. What's the moral of the story? Race winner Rubens said it himself, "We have to believe that whenever it's your day, it has to be your day." :D

Is it going to be my day tomorrow? That we shall see. School beckons again. Err... But anyway, it reminds me of a certain song about making it to the very end. The lyrics are below. Give it a read. :)

Go The Distance

I have often dreamed, of a far off place
Where a hero’s welcome, would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying, this is where I’m meant to be

I’ll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, if I can be strong
I know every mile, will be worth my while
When I go the distance, I’ll be right where I belong

Down an unknown road, to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime, but somehow I’ll see it through

And I won’t look back, I can go the distance
And I’ll stay on track, no, I won’t accept defeat
It’s an uphill slope, but I won’t lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete

But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero’s strength is measured by his heart

Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its harms
I don’t care how far, I can go the distance
Till I find my hero’s welcome, waiting in your arms

I will search the world, I will face its harms
Till I find my hero’s welcome, waiting in your arms

I got to go! But before I end, I just want to look back on this, my first week with a blog. It's attracted a lot of attention already, with moments of happiness, tension, and even a bit of sadness. I just want to thank you guys for reading, commenting, tagging, just making your presence felt around here. It gives this blog so much more color and life. Thank you so very much!

God bless! ;)

Yes, it's boring, I know.

Dang... nothing of great significance happened today. But at least I sealed the deal for a tutoring gig for the next 4 Saturdays. I'm going to help a kid pass Philippine Science. That should be fun! But it's going to be a bit of work, too. But hey, that's what I get paid for. :D

After that, we went around, dropping by NBS Quezon Ave., then Shopwise Cubao. After eating lunch, we decided to go check out the new malls. First, we went to Gateway (which we heard was on soft opening already), but to no avail. That soft opening was only for Gateway tenants and didn't look like opening to the public for another 2 months or so. From there, we went to Market! Market! at Fort Bonifacio. But it wasn't open yet either. It will open 16th September, so we'll go there again next weekend. From there, it was on to Greenbelt and Rockwell, where there were more foreigners and celebrities than usual (Pia Cayetano, Raul Roco, Cindy Kurleto, Patrick Paez, and Daphne Osena to name a few). I took a go at Initial D at Power Station, but to no avail. (The AI at that level is so bloody good!) Since I was almost out of money, I just watched the others give it a go (Lots of close races to go around). :)

We then went to the new Pancake House near my house and ate dinner, getting home just in time for... sports on TV! FEU defeated ADMU, which means its La Salle-Ateneo in a virtual best-of-3 for a finals spot. It starts on Tuesday, 4pm. (Darn, I have a class at that time!) After that, it was Formula 1 qualifying. Barrichello is on pole from Montoya and Schumi. Ferraris 1st and 3rd should make it look good for me for the race. :) I sure hope so!

See? Nothing of great interest today... Tomorrow should be a good day though, at least for the TV. NASCAR in the morning, F1 tapes and UAAP in the afternoon, and the race in the evening. Tomorrow must be spent wisely, for school starts on Monday! Err...

Haaaaay, life. O well.

Forza!

P.S. In case you didn't notice, today is the 3rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the WTC, among other places in the United States. Let's say a prayer for the souls of those killed in the tragedies.

Polly ticks and love hurts.

It's one of those days again... It was outright boring today. I filled the morning up by watching more Formula 1 videos (2002 and 2003), eating lunch in between. It was almost 6 hours worth! :D After that, I take a nap (almost 3 hours worth). When I woke up, I ate merienda while channel-surfing. I stumble onto CNN, which was featuring a survey on US President George W. Bush's popularity abroad.

The survey asked people outside of the US who they would vote if they could in the upcoming US elections in November. Out of the 35 countries polled (including the Philippines), 30 chose Democratic opponent John Kerry over Republican Bush. One of the 5 who picked Bush over Kerry was our very own Philippines. Subsequently, majority of the Filipinos polled said that their image (i.e. perception) of the US improved under Dubya's administration. I'm wondering why we were one of the few that ended up pro-Bush (I myself would prefer Kerry). It would be interesting to find out the backgrounds of those polled, particularly if they come from the government.

Honestly, I think President Bush has messed up on domestic issues and relies too much on his foreign policy (which duly promotes an ugly macho image for America) to stir up his popularity at home. Currently though, there's not a lot of relevant facts being floated on their campaigns. I commented in another blog that the voters need to figure out how much of what Bush and Kerry are saying are hard facts and not spin (opinionated statements that favor one candidate over the other). But for me, if Bush wins again, I'd be most disappointed.

After that report, it was back to boredom, at least till Iron Chef time. The competitors were brilliant in cooking the eel. Yum yum! A true feast for the eyes...

In between commercials, I was keeping an eye on the Friday practice session in Formula 1. After Ferrari duly took a 1-2 in the first session, they only took a 3-2 in the second after Raikkonen and McLaren spoiled their party. I'm really getting worried about the pace of Kimi's car. Can he actually pull off two wins in a row?

Anyway, after both Iron Chef and F1 finished, I fixed my music files, burned another CD, and went on a senti soundtrip.

It made me think about HER. I have no idea what exactly is going on between us, but I'm afraid that itself might be THE answer already. What is she feeling? Is she even feeling anything for me? Should I approach her? Or should I just shut up about it? I'm getting confused already. I want to know if I still have a chance. Or should I just read the signs and move on already? So many questions, yet no answers. Love hurts, bigtime.

But that's life for you. Oh well... Got to go for now.

Forza!

Am I asking too much?

Apparently, school hasn't changed much since I was gone. (But hey, it's only been a week!) The first thing I get asked is, "What are YOU doing here?" That got asked n times and they all got the same response. "Wala lang. :)" Yup, and that was apparent because all I did there was go around with friends.

I miss playing billiards, and I got my chance today. In the end, my match with Popoy ended with a draw, 2-2. And to think I was a 9-ball away from a 3-1 win! O well... :D Other than that, I also surfed the Net at a shop and ate lunch at McDo before their adjustment started in the PM.

But during that whole afternoon of sitting and talking and sitting again and talking again, there's this experience that stands out. I bought a bottle of mineral water (It was friggin' hot this afternoon, no?) and I was looking for a place where I could throw the plastic that sealed the bottle. I was too lazy to go through the (adjusting) crowd to find the nearest trash can there, so I went to the guard at the Conservatory exit. I asked him if his outpost had a trash can where I could throw my trash. He told me he didn't have one, and asked me what I was going to throw anyway. So he looked at the small seal in my hand, and ended up telling me...

"Dyan na lang, o." And the guard was pointing at the gutter outside. Pretty surprised he actually suggested that place, I just decided to say thanks and go to the farther South Gate (which was much less crowded) to throw my trash there. Looking back now, I'm really wondering why he suggested that place. Force of habit, maybe? But as a security guard, shouldn't he be a role model by suggesting a place with trash cans? OK, I'm not perfect. After all, I was too lazy to actually go to the trash cans at the nearby Conservatory. But that doesn't change the guard's responsibility as a role model, right? Or am I just being too idealistic here?

Other than that, it's been one of those lazy weekdays again (which I'm running out of... School starts on Monday already!) Oh yeah, just finished watching the DLSU-UE game a while ago. The Alma Mater duly took its 6th win a row... by 20 points! We are looking very solid indeed for the Final Four. Can we take that championship again! (Wishing and hoping... :D) I'm also pretty excited for tomorrow. It's Formula 1 time again and the start of the Italian GP weekend! I'm hoping Ferrari can take a win at their home... just to a prove a point to the rest, especially McLaren. ;)

Anyhows, that's all there is for the moment, folks!

Forza! :D

What's the chances?

Yesterday was pretty odd for me. First off, Rockwell. The gimik I planned pretty much got cancelled when everyone suddenly had other things to do or problems with transportation. But what's the chances I run into Carlo, Elaine, and co.? We ended up eating at Zaifu (cool Japanese restaurant... with those low tables!), and then we played bowling. I bowled for the first time in more than a year! Consequently, I sucked, bigtime. But nonetheless, I still had fun. Before leaving, I took Initial D for a spin. I won 2 in a row, but the 3rd guy was just too good. I left before I ended up running out of credits.

I was able to drop off the palanca at LBC without any fuss, so I went home and watched (you guessed it) Formula 1 videos. I fell asleep, so I wasn't able to start the Amazing Race, but I woke up in time to see Kami and Karli eliminated. It's sad Chip and Kim are starting from last, though. I'm really excited to watch the next 2 legs. Both are in the Philippines! (Manila and El Nido)

The Internet last night though was outright odd. First, what's the chances Blogspot would run into publication problems the whole day? (I was really lucky to have posted the last entry before that whole brouhaha started.:D) Second, what's the chances two people who don't know each other invite me to some 'business meeting' in Ortigas on two separate days (Friday and Saturday)? They were both convincing me to go so that I'd hear about the rewards I'd reap if I invested. My friend and I are suspecting the two are either sister companies or competing firms. Anyway, can anyone who has an idea on that explain it here? I'm confused to bits, to be honest. Rather odd, really...

Moving on, today is adjustment day and I'm going to school! But I'm not going to adjust, just hang out. There's nothing to do here at home anymore! Besides, I really want to meet my friends I haven't seen in a week. I miss those guys a lot. (As if I don't chat with them almost everyday! :D)

So what's the chances something odd happens again today? Pretty big, actually... ;)

Anyway, I gotta go! School beckons... :D

A change of scenery

Well... I woke up early today. I had a lot of stuff up last night, so I wasn't able to post. I had a really bad headache, a palanca to finish (the one I mentioned some entries back), and a rather disrespectful person to deal with.

Anyway, today should be a bit different. I'm leaving the house today (for the first time since Saturday!) to drop off the EAF at school (we paid at the bank already). From there, I go to Rockwell to hang out with friends, then send the palanca at Megamall (via LBC, as requested :D), then go home. I really need the change of scenery (and the exercise, hehehe). Here at home, it's getting very boring, very fast. Help! Any ideas? :D

:l <-- bored... Hahaha!

At least there's the Amazing Race to look forward to tonight. I wonder who will get the boot. TV has never had a better reality show. (Unless you count Iron Chef... Hahaha!) It's irritating that the break is going by this fast. Then again, what can you do when there's barely anything to do? :l

That's it for now, and as they say in my sister's favorite TV show, Madeline:
"That's all there is, there isn't any more." :)

Forza!

P.S. Phew! Somehow, I salvaged this entry. Yey! Stupid computer nearly erased it... Twice! :D

If I were to live my whole life again...

...I'd still rather be a Lasallista pa rin!

Sounds familiar? It should... If it doesn't, its from a song entitled "I'd Rather Be Green Than Be Blue", written and performed by LSGH alumni for that school's ruby (40th) anniversary back in 1999. (I remember watching that concert... :D) Anyway, THAT was playing on my PC while I was answering a La Salle survey from Pearl at Friendster. It looked rather interesting to me.

Anyway, La Salle, La Salle... For some strange reason, despite my dad being an out-and-out Lasallite, I almost didn't end up at La Salle. I was supposed to enroll at THE Ateneo, of all places! But my dad checked there too late and I wasn't able to apply there. The same applied for UP Integrated School and Claret. And as fate would have it, only La Salle Greenhills was still accepting applicants. So my dad checked, I ended up there, and my upbringing with St. La Salle began.

I've been in La Salle schools since 1992 (a long, long time ago), and I've had my ups and downs in it. I can't imagine how much I owe the Brothers in terms of what I've learned, academically and values-wise. (Then again, the P60000/year tuition in LSGH and P135000/year tuition in DLSU should more than make up for that. Hahaha!) La Salle has provided me with great education from outstanding teachers (with certain exceptions, of course), a lot of friends, and new buildings every year! (Did you notice that pretty much every major La Salle school has a construction project every year? :D) Sure, some say that La Salle is a rich kid's school (which, indeed, it is), but there's much more to it than it. Just ask other La Salle students, faculty, and alumni.

Whatever happens to me in my life, I will always be filled with gratitude for La Salle. They contributed a lot to what I am now. Wouldn't you agree? :)

Wow... another emotional entry. =)) That's it for now.

Animo La Salle!

P.S. Good luck sa atin sa Final 4! :D

weird, wacky, insane

It wasn't one of those normal nights for me... First, I didn't notice my parents were here already. That's rather odd, because I usually hear the doorbell when they arrive. Next thing I knew, they were calling me to their room.

Then when I get in, I see a brand-spanking-new Nokia 7610. But no, it wasn't for me. My mom bought it because her 6600 went bonkers. My dad will end up using it after THAT's fixed. (Lucky him!) While I was tinkering with my mom's new phone though, I suddenly get that sense of deja vu. I guess you all know what that means. It's really weird, especially since I haven't felt it in months! I remember dreaming about tinkering with the 7610 in front of a TV showing birds.

Yep, it's Mulawin alright. Mulawin is so different, but it's basically the same. You know, Mulawin is just a good old-fashioned telenovela with costumes. After all, there's still betrayal ("Traidor sya!") and evil, scheming, rich villains, to name a few. There's really this thing with telenovelas that get many of us hooked. I just have a hard time trying to explain what it is.

Moving on, chat tonight was basically more of the usual (at last!)... At least until love popped up. One of my friends was asking me if I liked someone. I said Yes, then she says, "I'm the only sane person left!" (That's a good one! Hahaha! :D) But seriously, that reminded me of a one-liner I heard from a friend of mine not so long ago. So now I ask...

Is love temporary insanity?

Hmmm... I love leaving open questions. =)) Oh well...

Not much left to say now, I guess. G'night, people! :)

Forza!

P.S. Wow. 2 entries a day for me... I'm really getting into this blogging thingy. :D

Let's go racing!

Well, ain't I the eager beaver? First, you'll notice the sidebar's pretty much loaded. There's already links and a tagboard! (I didn't know I can work THAT fast, hehehe...) Please patronize them (Wow, how deep.) and make them useful! :D

Second, I woke up early today to watch NASCAR, one form of racing. It's nice, lots of overtaking and slipstreaming and close competition, but it's still no Formula 1 by any means. But racing is racing whatever its form. It's weird how some people out there (you know who you are! :D) always ask what I find exciting with cars going round and round and round... and so on. I've always thought of it to be something much more than that.

You see, the fun is in the details. When you're watching, it's great to see how they go very, VERY fast (usually 200kph on average) and yet not run it into the wall (most of the time, anyway). And then, there's the overtaking (although it doesn't happen as often as it used to in F1). It's awesome to see your favorite driver or team pull off a great manouvre to move up the field! When you're part of a race yourself (see Initial D!), you can really feel the adrenaline rush while you're driving, pushing very hard to get ahead of your opponent and stay ahead. When I win in those races, it makes me feel really good about myself. If I don't, I just try and try again. Actually, if you think about it, motor racing is just like any other sport, only that it's at really high speeds. :D

But for me, motor racing is much more than a sport. It's my passion. :)

Anyway, I gotta go before I get all emotional about this. =)) That's it for the meantime.

Forza!

Wowee zowee!!! And then some.

Well, what can I say? Thanks a bunch to those who posted... At least I know this is going pretty well. ;) And look, there are already people telling me I'm a nerd! (I really should've seen that coming...) Anyway, I'll still be adding stuff here, hopefully it'll be up by tomorrow or Tuesday, so that it's gonna be much, much better... :D

At least the blog made up for what's been an awfully boring day... Not much to do except watch TV, surf, eat, and sleep! At least until a friend of mine texted me to write her a retlet/palanca for her retreat this weekend. (And it needs to be handwritten, of all things!!! I need to send it via LBC.) =))

That made me think. Do we still need retreats like we did in high school? I mean, college can (no, DOES) really drain the life out of you. We all need time to relax, time to reflect, time to focus on the more important things in life, like family and friends. Breaks are nice, but we usually tend to overlook that kind of stuff I mentioned. Yes, we do have LASARET now, but I think we need something on a yearly basis. It should help us keep life in perspective and that college isn't all about grades. Something to think about, really... :D

I've pretty much run out of thoughts! That's it for tonight, I guess. Keep on postin!

Forza!

P.S. Wow, I'm really getting hooked on this... ;)

And so it begins...

Yup, I've ended up here too. I've really wanted to start a blog for a long time... I just didn't have enough time back then. But it's term break now, so here I am.

It's been quite a week, really (especially if you start it with a Calculus final exam). Come course card time last Thursday, and it was really a mix of emotions... Relieved, that I passed ANMATH2; happy, that I hung on to the List; and yet very sad, as some of my friends didn't pass all their subjects. It really sucks that not everyone can pass. And it's even worse if you find out that it's because of professors that don't really teach well, or worse, hide from their students after the cards are given out. But that's life, I guess, and no one's perfect.

So far, the break's been OK. I've been all over the place, going to Timezone and Power Station (Initial D rules!!!), travelling to Tagaytay, eating out with high school friends in Libis, and getting the VHS fixed too. Here at home, I've been playing Civilization III (for the first time!), reading Angels and Demons, and watching Formula 1 videos, not to mention sleeping! I'm really trying to enjoy this 1-week break as much as I can. Next term will definitely be one heck of a killer.

But enough of that. Let's not think about that first, and relaaaaaaaaaax... Hahaha! :p

Anyway, that's it for the meantime... Gotta eat!

Forza!

P.S. People, I need your comments! C'mon, don't be shy... It's not like I'm going to kill you. So go ahead and post. :D
