Noise and quiet

It's quiet here right now, as it has been for most of the day. The classes were somewhat unusually silent. First was JAVA-01 (Java Technologies) with Sir Allan Chu. It was the usual orientation meeting with not much going on or being talked about, then getting dismissed early. The same could be said of JPRIZAL (The Life and Works of Rizal) with Ma'am Erlinda Bondoc. DBAPDEV (Database Application Development) under Ma'am Tangkeko was very quiet because only half of the class came and the bulk of the syllabus (i.e. project) won't be discussed until the plenary session next week.

However, the quiet today was disturbed for three hours everywhere in La Salle. As people settled in to watch the 1st game of a virtual best-of-3 series between DLSU and ADMU, I could really sense the excitement around me. It was electrifying! For once, we Lasallites (sounds so much better than Lasallians...) didn't have too much to worry about in this game. The boys from Katipunan never really stringed together any big runs and were outscored in all quarters. Our Archers kept going at it (making some fancy and brilliant plays in the process) and duly took first blood against the Eagles, 69-82. It was pretty irritating because my viewing got disturbed by FILIPI2 (Filipino sa Araling Kompyuter - CCS only), but our teacher (can't remember her name!) was nice enough to ensure we only missed 1 quarter. (She WAS nice after all!) I hope she's like that again on Thursday, during the second game. (and if we're lucky, next week, during the finals)

After the game finished, it was back to the quiet again. I had to kill some time at you-know-where before picking my parents up and going home. And here at the blog, it's been kind of quiet too these past few days, don't you think? It's probably people being busy and all, but hey, that's life for you... :)

That's all I got, so I got to go!

Forza!

P.S. Well... I lasted for the whole day! Or is it only because it's the first week, with everyone so focused on La Salle v. Ateneo? I hope not... :D
